2. This website

The website is hosted on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany) located in Germany. When you open a page, the server processes technically necessary data to deliver it: IP address, requested page and browser identifier (the user agent, which says which browser runs on which device). We keep no log of page requests, and server error messages contain neither IP address nor browser identifier. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Hetzner processes the data as our processor under a contract pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The font is served from our own server; there are no requests to third-party font services.

3. Counting visits with cookieless Analytics

We count visits to this website with our own tool cookieless Analytics, which we operate ourselves on the same server. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Encrypted backup copies are also stored with Hetzner, in a data centre in Finland (EU).

When you open a page, it processes the page address (without anything after the question mark, except campaign parameters such as utm_source), the page you came from (domain and path only), the window width, browser and operating system (derived from the browser identifier) and the country (derived from the IP address). It also records clicks on links to other websites and on the waitlist, downloads, how long the page is visible and how far you scroll down.

Your IP address and the full browser identifier are not stored. To count visits, the tool calculates a code (a checksum) from the IP address, browser identifier, website and a random value that changes daily, and stores that code instead of the IP address. The random value is held in memory only and is deleted and replaced every day. After that the checksum can no longer be recalculated and visits on different days cannot be linked. Data is not combined across websites or devices and is not passed on to third parties.

We do this to see how many people visit our website and to improve it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly audience measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep the individual entries for 24 months and then delete them. Only daily totals remain, which can no longer be linked to individual visits. You can object to the processing at any time, for example via the email address above.

4. Waitlist and contact

If you write to us or join the waitlist by email, we use your email address and your message only to reply to you or to tell you when cookieless Analytics launches, and we delete them afterwards or as soon as you ask us to. Our mailbox is hosted by mailbox.org (Heinlein Hosting GmbH, Berlin). The legal basis is handling your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

5. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. If you have given us consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To do so, write to office@cookieless.eu. You can also complain to the data protection authority: Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40 to 42, 1030 Vienna, Austria, dsb.gv.at.
